About the Lake Stevens Arts and Parks Foundation:

The Lake Stevens Arts and Parks Foundation was established on November 8, 2004. It is a 501 (c) (3) charity, (Federal ID #30- 0345225) sponsoring and supporting Public Art and Parks in Lake Stevens. While the Foundation works closely with the City of Lake Stevens, it is independently governed by an eleven-member board. All of the work by the Foundation is accomplished through volunteers and charitable contributions. As a result, the Foundation has no overhead.

The mission of the Foundation is: “To advocate and develop financial support for Arts, Parks, Recreational Programs and Cultural Events for Lake Stevens and the surrounding area.”

Representative Foundation projects include:

  • Shakespeare in the Park, at Eagle Ridge Park

  • Music in the Park, at North Cove Park following Summer Farmers Market

  • Formation of the Lake Stevens Community Band

  • Movies in the Park, at Lundeen Park

  • Wall mural at The Mill, showing history of women in the logging industry

  • Tile Mural on North Cove Park Water feature wall

  • Fish collage on the North Cove Park Water feature wall

  • Host organization for the Lake Stevens Film Festival

  • Sponsorship of memorial benches throughout the city

Projects on the horizon include:

  • Market Street Mural

  • Sensory garden at Frontier Heights Park

  • Interpretive signs at key historic sites in the community

  • Continued advocacy for a youth bicycle pump track
