About the Lake Stevens Arts and Parks Foundation:
The Lake Stevens Arts and Parks Foundation was established on November 8, 2004. It is a 501 (c) (3) charity, (Federal ID #30- 0345225) sponsoring and supporting Public Art and Parks in Lake Stevens. While the Foundation works closely with the City of Lake Stevens, it is independently governed by an eleven-member board. All of the work by the Foundation is accomplished through volunteers and charitable contributions. As a result, the Foundation has no overhead.
The mission of the Foundation is: “To advocate and develop financial support for Arts, Parks, Recreational Programs and Cultural Events for Lake Stevens and the surrounding area.”
Representative Foundation projects include:
Shakespeare in the Park, at Eagle Ridge Park
Music in the Park, at North Cove Park following Summer Farmers Market
Formation of the Lake Stevens Community Band
Movies in the Park, at Lundeen Park
Wall mural at The Mill, showing history of women in the logging industry
Tile Mural on North Cove Park Water feature wall
Fish collage on the North Cove Park Water feature wall
Host organization for the Lake Stevens Film Festival
Sponsorship of memorial benches throughout the city
Projects on the horizon include:
Market Street Mural
Sensory garden at Frontier Heights Park
Interpretive signs at key historic sites in the community
Continued advocacy for a youth bicycle pump track
