REQUIREMENTS: A $500 award will be presented to a graduating Lake Stevens High School Senior for the development of an original poster promoting Lake Stevens Parks! Any interested graduating Senior regardless of their GPA or acceptance to a college or university is eligible to apply. The spirit of the award aims to celebrate and promote the City’s public parks, our community’s finest natural attribute. The prize of $500 will be awarded by the Lake Stevens Arts & Parks Foundation for the best poster that illustrates and celebrates either a single park or several parks in Lake Stevens. Images submitted are required to be sized to a width of 18 inches, height of 24 inches and a resolution of 300dpi. Additionally, applicants will be asked to provide a short description of their research and creative methods used to realize their original concept. The final submission is due Wednesday, May 5th, 2021.
The Lake Stevens Arts & Parks Foundation will select a winner by blind vote. The poster and the name of the winner will be displayed along with previous winning posters at City Hall and displayed at City events. A poster will also be donated to the Lake Stevens Historical Society for their archives and as a record of student achievement. Posters may be sold as a means of generating additional funds for the Arts & Parks Foundation.
